Reynolds 753 tubing is
Manganese/Molybdenum steel, with a proper heat treatment procedure, enhanced on
such high mechanical properties that some of the tubes are as thin as 0.5/0.3mm
only! Such steel has to be silver brazed on very low temperature: not higher
than 650 deg. Celsius, which is very hard to achieve and even harder to
control/maintain during the brazing process. |
|
At the
time, framebuilder was required to pass a special test before being allowed to
make frames out of 753 material. Ves Mandaric got his Master Frame Builder certificate in January 1981, and become one of less than 50 people in the world certified to work with this material. |
|
![]() Those exceptional tubing brought MANDARIC on the level to have some of the World Champions riding on his frames. |
|
![]() As 753 tubing has to be connected with the lugs, not welded, intricate Custom Lug Work can be achieved, of course with lots of work and not to mention, patience. |
|
![]() 753 frames are in the way outdated, because of new materials and techniques of frame manufacturing. Still, we continue to build them for the small number of customers who just can't forget about beautiful lug lines and the ride of 753. |
